If you plan to pursue a PhD: This master’s program is intended for students with a completed 4-year bachelor’s degree. This allows you to pursue a PhD degree later anywhere in Europe.
If you completed a 3-year bachelor’s degree previously and wish to continue with a PhD degree after you complete your master’s level program, you should choose a 2-year master’s program.
If you do not plan to pursue a PhD: If you have completed a 3-year bachelor's degree and are not interested in a PhD degree later, then, in exceptional cases, you can be allowed admission into this 1-year master’s program. To qualify for the exception, you have to demonstrate substantial experience in quantitative analysis or computer programming, not only documented through academic credentials (degree programs, non-degree certificates and online courses) but also through relevant work experience and individual projects. Please contact us directly to discuss your application.
Program-Specific Requirements
In addition to meeting the general CEU admissions requirements, you must provide a 500-word statement of purpose and proof of a valid GMAT score of at least 600 (or an equivalent GRE General Test or CEU Math Test score).
What Awaits You
The MS in Business Analytics offers a comprehensive data analyst education. All students attend a compulsory pre-term program in the first two weeks of September to refresh their knowledge of mathematics and provide an introduction to informatics. In the first term, you will explore foundation courses that cover an introduction to R, statistical foundations, data management basics, open-source and commercial data science, and big data tools. You will also examine concepts of business intelligence, data visualization and storytelling.
In the second semester, you will attend advanced data science courses, such as prediction methods and machine learning, as well as learn about practical and data engineering aspects of putting analytics into production.
In the third semester, you will work on the practical application of the knowledge gained during the program and produce an individual capstone project for an industry client. Examples of past projects include designing a data warehouse, building a predictive model of customer behavior, fraud detection and designing and evaluating experiments through data analysis.
